Dear Potential Research Participant,
Cook Library needs you! We recently changed our catalog and we want to learn what works for you and what could work better.
Participants in a focus group should expect to spend approximately one and a half hours in the session. During the session, participants will be asked about how they use CookOneSearch and other search engines including their opinions about those tools. Researchers will use a computer to navigate to sections of the library catalog for discussion. The sessions will be digitally recorded, and notes will also be taken by a member of the UX Committee. The recordings and notes will be redacted to remove any personal identifiable information including names. Participating in the focus group is completely voluntary and participants may withdraw at any time.
Participants will not receive any direct benefits, such as financial compensation or course credit, however, there will be snacks and TU swag!
The focus groups will meet October 22, 29, and 30th. Limited spots are available so sign up now.
If you have any questions about the project, please contact Felicity Knox, the study’s principal investigator, at fknox@towson.edu or 410-704-5613.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Cook Library’s UX Committee:
