For Online / Distance Students

Our online front door is open.

Your TU NetID is your all-access pass.

Our most up-to-date resources are online, waiting. Start your search from our library homepage to take full advantage of our online resources.

You can also visit our University Archives to search or browse our archives and special collections, unique to Towson University.

You can log in before you search by selecting "Sign In" and "Off Campus? Sign in" from the top right menu.

Start with Cook OneSearch, in the middle of our library homepage. It's a basic yet comprehensive option

  • You can search by keyword phrase, like climate change.
  • You can search by title, too. Wrap it in quotation marks, like "Baltimore: A Political History".
  • To show just online results, you can check "Full Text" on the left. We recommend using more filters and trying different keywords too.
  • We're happy to help. See Ask a librarian for ways to get in touch. For quick questions, chat with us during research help chat hours.

Access TU Sources Remotely

You can access our online resources from off-campus. Add this button as a bookmark to your browser, and then reload to get it through TU Libraries. If we subscribe to it, you will be able to see it after you log in.

Bookmark the "Reload at TU" button

Firefox

Drag the button to the bookmarks toolbar or right click and select the "Bookmark This Link" option.

Chrome

Drag the button to the bookmarks toolbar.

Safari

Drag the button to the bookmarks toolbar. If the bookmarks toolbar isn't visible, press Ctrl + Shift + B.

Internet Explorer

Right click the button and choose the "Add to favorites..." option. You may get a warning about adding unsafe links. While it's good practice to be wary, this link is safe.

How it works

This button adds some information in front of the URL called a proxy that allows you to log in through your TU netID.

It will only work for resources we subscribe to. Check the Journal List or Databases list for a complete list, or Ask a Librarian
