For Off-Campus and Distance Students

As an off-campus or distance student, you can call the Cook Library Research Help Desk at 410-704-2462 or contact your subject librarian to help you with your research, virtually or in person.

You are also eligible for special library services:

  • Mail delivery of print items to your home address.
  • Electronic delivery of scanned journal articles or book chapters that Cook Library owns in print format only.

To use these services, set your ILLiad status to "Off-Campus Student". Keep in mind that you will be responsible for return postage for print items.

Towson University Northeastern Campus

The Learning Commons at TU in Northeastern Maryland is a virtual library. Most material is available to you electronically in research databases. There is a small print collection containing several reference items as well as children’s books. Visit the Welcome Desk to access this collection.

Borrowing from TU Northeastern

  • You can have print items delivered to TU in Northeastern Maryland. When you see an item in Cook OneSearch that you’d like to borrow, request the item and specify “TU Northeastern” as the pick-up location.
  • You’ll receive an email letting you know when your book is delivered. Bring your OneCard to the TU in Northeastern Maryland Welcome Desk to pick up your book.

Cook Library

Off-campus and distance students are welcome to visit Cook Library. Be sure to bring your OneCard and stop in to browse Cook Library's stacks, meet with librarians, and use the computers or study spaces. Cook Library is generally open on the weekends when parking is easy.
