Research & Instruction Librarian for History
Serve as a research and instruction librarian and as liaison and subject specialist to the Department of History and related disciplines as assigned. Plan and teach information literacy in liaison area and other disciplines. Participate in the development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive, integrated information literacy program. Evaluate and select resources for the assigned collection and related areas; create instructional materials; provide research assistance and reference services to students, faculty and members of the university community and to the community at large.
Librarian for Outreach & Student Engagement
The Albert S. Cook Library seeks an innovative and creative individual to serve as an outreach and student engagement librarian beginning Fall 2016. The individual in this role will help develop and lead library programs related to student engagement, information literacy instruction, and library orientation, as well as connect the library with campus-wide initiatives focused on student success, engagement, and academic wellbeing. This position also manages the library’s student leadership program and supervises student participants. This librarian will also provide information literacy instruction, research assistance, and reference services to the Towson University community and assist in curating library collections.
Library Residency for Diversity and Innovation
The Albert S. Cook Library seeks an early-career librarian from an underrepresented group for a two-year residency program. The Towson University Library Residency for Diversity and Innovation program is designed to provide a broad range of experiences in academic librarianship, a supportive environment for professional exploration, and an opportunity for concentrated experience in an area of specialization. The purpose of the program is to help increase the presence of members of underrepresented groups in academic librarianship and to bring fresh ideas and new perspectives to the library.

Library Services Specialist
The Albert S. Cook Library at Towson University is currently accepting applications for a Library Services Specialist to work in the Interlibrary Loan Department. This department obtains materials not available from the University of Maryland and Affiliated Institution (USMAI) libraries for Towson University students, faculty, and staff, and lends materials from the Cook Library collection to non-USMAI libraries.
Library Associate for Resource Description and Access
The Albert S. Cook Library at Towson University is seeking a Library Associate to be responsible for ensuring that library resources are discoverable and accessible by library users. This individual would be responsible for: organizing, coordinating, and managing large projects related to the library’s print and electronic collections; cataloging journals and standing orders; managing holdings list of journals; training staff on the Content Management Department operations and processes; planning and coordinating training schedules and writing training manuals.
